Greece Tariff Rates 2026: 15% on US Imports

Updated 2026-07-24
Effective Rate
15%20%

As of 2026-07-24, US imports from Greece carry an effective tariff of about 15%. This is the 15% all-inclusive ceiling under the EU-US trade deal, effective July 1, 2026 โ€” it replaced the 10% Section 122 rate and does not stack: goods with an MFN rate of 15% or more pay MFN only, with Section 232 metals tariffs of 50% on steel and 50% on aluminum charged separately (metals sit outside the 15% ceiling). Autos from Greece are now 15% (down from 27.5%), and pharmaceuticals and semiconductors are capped at 15%. The rate fell from 20% after the Supreme Court struck down the IEEPA tariffs in February 2026, so importers who paid the higher rate between April 2025 and February 2026 may qualify for refunds. The earlier 10% Section 122 tariff (in effect Feb 24 โ€“ June 30, 2026 for EU goods) no longer applies to EU-origin goods โ€” it was superseded by the EU-US deal on July 1, 2026, and nationwide it expired at its 150-day limit on July 24, 2026.

Did You Import From Greece?

If you imported goods from Greece between April 2025 and February 2026, you likely paid the 20% IEEPA tariff that was later ruled unconstitutional. You may be owed a refund.

Greece Import Tariff Overview

Greece, an EU member, is covered by the US-EU trade deal's 15% all-inclusive tariff ceiling effective July 1, 2026. Aluminum and steel articles remain at 50% under Section 232 regardless of the EU deal.

Greece trades with the US under the EU common commercial policy, with no separate bilateral FTA. It is an established supplier of Mediterranean agricultural products and refined petroleum, and also a notable EU aluminum producer, so the Section 232 metals regime affects part of its export base even under the EU deal.

Key Products Imported from Greece

The US imports refined petroleum products, olive oil and table olives, feta and other dairy, fish and seafood, aluminum, wine, and pharmaceuticals from Greece. Food products and refined fuels are the largest categories.

Recent Changes

The US-EU 15% all-inclusive ceiling took effect July 1, 2026, replacing the 10% Section 122 rate before its July 24 national expiry, so the shift to the Section 301 forced-labor tariff does not change Greek treatment. Aluminum articles stay at 50% under Section 232, and the $800 de minimis exemption has been eliminated.

Tips for Importers

Food importers benefit from the all-inclusive 15% ceiling, under which MFN duty is not stacked on top โ€” verify whether a product's MFN rate already meets 15%. Aluminum importers should evaluate Section 232 exclusion options, and 2025 IEEPA payers should review refund eligibility from the $166B SCOTUS pool.

How Are US Tariffs on Greece Imports Calculated?

US import duties on goods from Greece are determined by multiple overlapping tariff authorities. The base layer is the EU-US trade dealโ€™s 15% all-inclusive ceiling, effective July 1, 2026, which replaced the 10% Section 122 rate for EU members. It does not stack: goods with an MFN rate of 15% or higher pay MFN only, while lower-MFN goods pay 15% total. Autos are 15% (down from 27.5%), and pharmaceuticals and semiconductors are capped at 15%. Section 232 tariffs of 50% on steel and 50% on aluminum apply to metals imports, outside the EU deal's 15% ceiling.

To calculate the total duty on a specific import from Greece, use our US import duty calculator or landed cost calculator for a complete estimate including Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) and Harbor Maintenance Fee (HMF). You can also compare Greece rates with other countries to evaluate sourcing alternatives.

Already importing from Greece? If you paid the higher pre-SCOTUS IEEPA rate in 2025, you may be able to claim an IEEPA tariff refund. And if you re-export or manufacture with imported goods, duty drawback can recover up to 99% of the duties you paid โ€” both are separate from the rates above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Greek olive oil subject to US import duty?
Greek olive oil falls under the EU deal's 15% all-inclusive ceiling. Because the ceiling is all-inclusive, the standard olive-oil MFN duty is not stacked on top of it.
How much is US duty on Greek aluminum?
Aluminum articles are subject to 50% under Section 232 regardless of the EU deal, with derivative aluminum products at the 25% Section 232 tier.
What tariff applies to Greek feta and wine?
Both are covered by the US-EU deal's 15% all-inclusive tariff ceiling effective July 1, 2026, applied in lieu of stacking MFN duty and the former reciprocal tariff.
