This Privacy Policy describes how TariffsTool.com (“TariffsTool,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website, tools, and services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us and information that is collected automatically when you use the Services.

Information you provide:

  • Contact information: name, email address, phone number
  • Business information: company name, country of import, import value, number of entries, customs broker status, ACE Portal status
  • Refund-related information: estimated refund amounts you generate using our tools
  • Communications you send us, including consultation requests

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address, browser type and version, operating system
  • Pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages, referring URL
  • Device identifiers and approximate location derived from IP
  • UTM parameters and campaign attribution data
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide refund estimates and operate our calculators and tools
  • Send you the refund estimate report you requested
  • Send tariff news, refund deadline alerts, and product updates (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Connect you with refund-filing professionals when you request consultation help
  • Measure and improve site performance, understand how users find and use the Services
  • Operate paid advertising campaigns and remarketing
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.

Refund-filing partners. When you request consultation help with filing an IEEPA tariff refund, we share your information — including name, email, phone, company, country, estimated refund, and any details you submit on the consultation form — with our refund-filing partners so they can contact you and help recover your refund. Our current partners are:

  • Master Plan Accounting (Matt Nelson, founder)
  • Frost Law AZ and other affiliated trade attorneys engaged by Master Plan to handle CAPE Declaration filings

Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including:

  • Google Analytics — site analytics and audience measurement
  • Google Ads — advertising, conversion tracking, and remarketing
  • Reddit Ads — advertising, conversion tracking, and remarketing
  • Beehiiv — email newsletter delivery and subscriber management
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (e.g., your refund estimate report)
  • Vercel — website hosting
  • Google Workspace — lead storage in Google Sheets and notification email delivery

Legal and protective disclosures. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, protect the rights, property, or safety of TariffsTool, our users, or others, or enforce our terms.

Business transfers. If TariffsTool is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time using the contact information in Section 8.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, measure performance, and serve advertising. The technologies in use include:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., session storage)
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics measurement of page views, sessions, and conversions
  • Advertising cookies and pixels — Google Ads conversion tracking, Reddit Ads pixel, and remarketing tags

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may affect the functionality of the Services. You can also opt out of personalized advertising at optout.aboutads.info and Google’s ad settings.

6. Your Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know. Request a copy of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties we share it with.
  • Right to delete. Request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Request that we not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration; however, advertising-related sharing may qualify as “sharing” under the CPRA. You may opt out at any time using the contact information in Section 8.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. Request that we limit the use of any sensitive personal information we collect.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Residents of other US states with comparable privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia) have similar rights and may submit requests using the same contact information.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for adults engaged in business import activity. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it.

Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Services or by email if you have subscribed. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
