DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)

DDP is the Incoterm placing maximum responsibility on the seller: the seller delivers the goods cleared for import at the buyer's location, having paid all freight, insurance, US import duty, and taxes. It is the model many consumer retailers (e.g., SHEIN, ASOS) now use to collect estimated import charges at checkout so the buyer avoids a surprise carrier bill. Example: a DDP order shows an 'import charges' line at checkout, and nothing more is owed on delivery. It matters because under DDP the price you pay is meant to be the final landed price — no separate customs bill — whereas non-DDP terms leave the duty to you.
