DAP (Delivered at Place)

DAP (Delivered at Place) is the Incoterm under which the seller delivers the goods to a named destination but the buyer is responsible for import clearance and duty. It is like DDP except the duty and customs formalities fall on the buyer — so a DAP shipment can still generate a carrier duty/brokerage bill on arrival. Example: goods arrive DAP at your warehouse, then UPS bills you the US duty it advanced to CBP plus its brokerage fee. It matters because DAP looks 'delivered' but leaves you owing the import duty — budget for it rather than assuming the price was all-in.
