ASOS Import Tax Outside the United States
TariffsTool calculates US import duty. This page only records the low-value thresholds published by Ireland, Canada, Mexico, and Thailand for someone ordering from ASOS into those countries. It does not calculate a clothing rate, and it does not say whether ASOS collects the charge at checkout.
US orders are a different page: ASOS import charges for the United States. That page says ASOS ships US orders from the United Kingdom.
Ireland
A parcel dispatched from the United Kingdom into Ireland is an import from outside the European Union. Council Regulation (EU) 2026/382, applicable from 1 July 2026 until 1 July 2028, deletes the customs-duty relief for consignments of intrinsic value not exceeding €150 and replaces it with a customs duty of €3 per item in a consignment whose intrinsic value does not exceed €150. That €3 applies when the import is VAT-exempt under the Import One-Stop Shop rule, or when the goods are in a postal consignment.
Irish Revenue says the Import One-Stop Shop covers goods that are outside the EU when sold, dispatched in a consignment of intrinsic value not exceeding €150, and not subject to excise. Where the seller uses it, import VAT is not collected by Customs. From 1 July 2026 Revenue also says the €150 duty exemption is removed, the charge is €3 per distinct item, and no VAT is charged on that €3 when the supplier uses the Import One-Stop Shop. This page does not state the Irish VAT percent, and it does not know whether a given ASOS checkout uses that scheme.
Canada
CBSA Memorandum D8-2-16 and the CBSA CUSMA low-value page state the courier thresholds in Canadian dollars. From the United States or Mexico: up to $40, duties and taxes are remitted; from $40.01 to $150, customs duty is remitted and taxes still apply; above $150, duties and taxes apply. From any other country, courier goods up to $20 are duty- and tax-free, and goods above $20 are not. Mail stays at $20 from every country, including the United States and Mexico.
The higher courier thresholds apply to goods imported from the United States or Mexico. Goods that only transit those countries, without entering their commerce, stay at $20. A parcel dispatched from the United Kingdom is in the $20 courier group unless it was actually shipped from the United States or Mexico after entering that country's commerce. This page does not publish a Canadian duty percent for clothing.
Mexico
Agencia Nacional de Aduanas de México says postal goods are not charged contributions, and do not need a boleta aduanal, when the customs value per recipient is at or under the equivalent of 50 US dollars, the goods are not subject to a non-tariff regulation, and the quantity is personal use rather than merchandise for sale.
ANAM's courier notice for the simplified procedure, describing rules from 1 January 2025, says the shipment value must not exceed 2,500 US dollars and that contributions are paid according to origin and value. That notice does not publish a duty percent. This page does not state one.
Thailand
The Thai Customs express-consignment page still says postal items or express consignments with a CIF value not exceeding 1,500 baht are free of duty and tax.
The USPS International Mail Manual, revised from a Thailand Post notice sent through UPU International Bureau Circular 210 of 22 December 2025, says that effective 1 January 2026 mail valued at more than 1 baht but not more than 1,500 baht is subject to import duties and taxes, and that items of not more than 1 baht and documents without value stay exempt.
Those two texts do not say the same thing. This page does not choose a duty percent between them.
